Dodgers add Urias to NLCS roster, drop Alexander

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced their 25-man roster for the National League Championship Series against the Milwaukee Brewers. It is almost identical to the roster that squared off against the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS, with only one change made.

The Dodgers elected to add left-hander Julio Urias to the roster, replacing fellow southpaw Scott Alexander, who threw a scoreless inning in Game 3 against Atlanta.

Urias, 22, totaled four innings pitched for the Dodgers in the regular season as he worked his way back from shoulder surgery in 2017. He will likely work out of the bullpen against the Brewers.

The Dodgers made no other adjustments, which means All-Star right-hander Ross Stripling was again left off the playoff roster after an excellent regular season.

Game 1 is slated for Friday at 8:09 p.m. ET at Miller Park in Milwaukee. Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw will start against Brewers lefty Gio Gonzalez.
