Chase Utley appears to be on his way back to Chavez Ravine.
Utley and the Dodgers were said to be engaged in serious talks Monday night.
Although nothing has been officially announced, an unoccupied locker in the Dodgers' spring clubhouse is reportedly already filled with Utley's equipment.
The 39-year-old would return to his hometown Dodgers for a third full season. He originally joined them via trade from the Philadelphia Phillies in August 2015.
Utley hit .236/.324/.405 with eight homers and 34 RBIs for the Dodgers last year while splitting time at second base with Logan Forsythe. Of his 127 games played in 2017, only 80 came at the keystone. He also made 44 appearances as a pinch hitter and played 17 games at first base.
